This class is for the novice as well as for the advance competent person. The class will provide each participant with the knowledge to safely dig or work in a trench. OSHA Trenching Standard and Competent Person training will be conducted by Arnie Kraft of A.R.K. Management Associates. Mr. Kraft has
extensive background in this topic having conducted this training
for literally thousands of workers since OSHA changed its trenching standard. OSHA defines the Competent Person as
“one who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has authorization to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them.”
The employer appoints the Competent Person and gives them the authority to make the job safe.
