Gravel Operations

A word about MSHA training. Everyone who works on mine property (miners, construction workers in the taconite plants or operators working sand and gravel operations) must have the
appropriate required MSHA training. Local 49 sponsored.

Refreshers will be 8 hours as contained in the Part 48 requirements so that you can work on any MSHA regulated property.

There are New Miner courses and annual refreshers that all workers are required to receive. The employer is required to
supply the training and pay your wages while you are trained and also any additional expenses such as gas, meals, and lodging if you should require it. This is the law.
