Class:
It is a two-day class from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM one on one with an instructor. We will be covering loading equipment, load securement, how to pull permits, load placement, driving with weight behind you, how to chain WLL (Working Load Limit), bridge heights and road weight restrictions, and meeting DOT requirements. We will be loading different types of equipment on and off the lowboy trailer along with possibly putting on a 4th axle or needing a stinger. During this course you will need your PPE, gloves, and to dress for the weather. Before you come to class, please refresh on pre-trip skills. You are required to pay for your MVR ($25.00), Clearinghouse Query ($1.25). It is your responsibility to cover the cost of the drug screen, which is usually $50-$75 dollars. If you are currently working for a company and enrolled in a DOT drug pool, you can ask your employer to write a letter on company letterhead stating that you are enrolled in the company’s drug pool. This will save you having to do a drug test and getting enrolled in the Training Center’s drug pool for the time you will be training. (attached is an example of a John Doe drug pool letter)
All fees subject to change.
